Welcome to Jewish Learning.com and the A to Z Guide to Judaism. Jewish Learning.com is owned and operated by The Jewish Learning Portal, an online non-profit Jewish learning enterprise. Our goal is to be the premier, comprehensive resource on the Internet for adults starting to learn about Judaism. Jewish Learning.com is providing for you the A to Z Guide to Judaism, a course of 35 classes. The course is designed specifically to orient and guide the student by logically explaining and illustrating all topics that define Judaism. Our goal is to deliver a full understanding of the religion, its laws, customs and history, the Jewish nation and its way of life. In addition to the classes, Jewish Learning provides each student with their own online notebook. The personalized notebook is private and you can add and edit with each page titled according to where you are in the course. There is a glossary of terms. Click on one of the highlighted words and a window pops up with the glossary definition and a list of classes where instances of this word appears. As well as the A to Z Guide to Judaism you can learn about the Parashah, or submit a question to the F.A.Q. page. When you enrol we will figure out your own Shabbat candle lighting times which will be displayed at the top of your class pages along with this week's Parashah (torah portion).
There are other important features from which the student will benefit but the most important is the correspondence we encourage. Everyone's Judaism is unique. Our team of Rabbis and educators will be pleased to answer your questions to help you reach your goals. Our F.A.Q. board is a stimulating place to browse, research comment and learn. Remember, there is no such thing as a silly question. To begin, the student is asked to enrol by completing a form. Subsequently you can login with your name and password. Please note, the information submitted is strictly confidential. None of the information submitted to Jewish Learning is sold, given or exchanged. It is used solely to guide us in developing new products and services. Occasionally, after login, we will be asking the student to fill in a brief questionnaire. Again, this ongoing information gathering is how we develop new classes and courses.

Philanthropy:
Mentioned above is the fact that the A to Z Guide
to Judaism is free. We are extremely
lucky to be supported by generous, far-sighted
philanthropists. The goal of The
Jewish Learning Portal is to present Judaism
in a logical, comprehensive style to people
beginning to learn about Judaism. Rather than
incur costly classroom overheads and
reach only a handful of people for an hour or
two once a week we decided to broadcast
our classes in the most expedient and contemporary
way, via the internet. With no time
or location restrictions students are free to
explore our distance learning website, and
correspond with us all thanks to the
philanthropists who believe in our goals.
It is our intention to expand upon the A to Z
Guide and provide intermediate and,
eventually, advanced courses aimed at providing
a greater understanding of Judaism.
Our traffic monitors will gague the popularity
of the A to Z Guide and your feedback will
tell us in what direction you want to go. Together,
and not without support
, we'll grow, and in so doing we'll
provide you with all the knowledge and
guidance you ask for.
